At the corner there is a tract office for the Olympic Beverly Plaza. Across the street there are a few cafes and shops. There are rows of houses at the far side of the driving range.     A panoramic view of the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles, from Beverly Boulevard. There are a few houses or apartments on the left, beyond which is a small lake. The UCLA campus is in the center of the image, with the Men's and Women's Gymnasiums at the bottom of the hill, in front of Royce Hall and College Library (now Powell Library). There are numerous automobiles parked in front of the gymnasiums. Westwood Village is visible on the far right. The road in the foreground is labeled "Beverly Blvd." in white, though there is no corresponding Beverly Boulevard in Westwood today. Writing in white in the bottom center reads "Made 1931 ; Pettit's Studio ; 1416 W. Pico L.A. ; RI. 8534".

Five men in Catholic clerical garb are seated in the center, in front of about 120 men in uniform, mostly sailors, a few marines. There are also a handful of civilians among the group. They are posed in front of the Mason Hotel and the Del Mar Hotel and Cafe. Writing in white at bottom of image reads "Closing of Fleet Mission. There is writing in white in the lower left corner which reads "Pettit's Studio ; 1416 W. Pico, LA ; Ri. 8534 ; No. 263 6-20-1923".
